The Milwaukee-based Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, a major source of funding for right-wing groups with over $854 million in assets, gave grants to FreedomWorks Foundation and the Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce Foundation this year to specifically assist with their efforts to rapidly reopen the economy amidst the coronavirus pandemic. | By David Armiak
“The children of darkness are more cunning than the children of light.” Bradley Foundation has been peddling for decades. Here in Wisconsin are some elements that appear to be part of a culture of death, preferring profit to people.
- Bradley Foundation
- Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce – Wisconsin’s Chamber
- Wisconsin State Representative Robin Vos
- MMAC
All of them acted as if they knew best when they advocated for re-opening Wisconsin. Add to that State Representative Robin Vos and others who sued to block the Governor’s stay safe order. They have blood on their hand.

My friend Eric Lundquist noted:
Walter Jack Lanier I like that you are approaching this from a justice angle. The mandated back to work angle pushed by MAC, Koch, et.al., makes me feel like a WWI French soldier at the Somme, getting ready for the order to “go over the top” and charge the Boche machine guns armored with a cotton overcoat and a leather helmet…
So, what does justice require?
1. Who has the most to gain? Certainly not the hourly worker in the same position as hourly workers pre COVID. It is that top one or ten or twenty percent who receive the benefit of the gains.
2. But the top echelon does not encourage an equitable sharing of the pain here. Instead, they’re calling for more tax breaks.
3. Shouldn’t those who receive the benefit of this “bargain” be willing to share some of the pain in reopening?
4. How about medical insurance for those forced to work in the face of a pandemic
5. How about recognizing that there is about a quarter of the population at heightened risk of exposure. What will be done to protect THEM. Rather, what should be required to protect them?
There, that ought to be a start. Who has more?
Thanks!
You are welcome.
