From the Pastor’s Pen – “Whom Shall I Send”
Hello family,
I pray you are well.
Last Sunday, we began listing opportunities In the bulletin to minister outside the walls of the church and to those in need. I am pleased to report that we had nearly 15 people sign up to participate in the three ministry opportunities listed below:
- St. Bens Food Pantry
- Human Sex Trafficking
- Despensa – service to the homeless
We will continue to promote these and other ministry opportunities. As we do, remember Christ’s admonition the church in Matthew 25:40. He spoke about how we treat the hungry, the naked, the sick and the incarcerated. He said, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
The Holy Spirit prods all of us to work inside and outside the walls of the church. He sends us forth into ministry. The Lord continues to call out for his people to do the work of ministry. He calls to us as he asked in Isaiah 6:8, “Whom shall I send?” As we list more opportunities to minister to the least of these, listen for God’s voice. When you hear his call, be prepared to answer promptly, like Isaiah answered in verse 8, “Here I am Lord, send me.”
May God bless you and keep you.
In love,
Pastor
