African American Leadership Program (AALP) at AALAM
The African American Leadership Program (AALP) at the African American Leadership Alliance Milwaukee (AALAM) is a leadership development initiative that provides African American professionals in Milwaukee with the tools, resources, and community support needed to achieve meaningful success. Under Walter’s leadership, AALP has strengthened the leadership pipeline, connecting emerging leaders with opportunities for advancement and fostering a network of support that empowers the next generation of changemakers.

My Brother’s Keeper Milwaukee Certification
As part of President Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper initiative, this certification program is dedicated to addressing opportunity gaps and improving outcomes for young men of color. Walter’s work in Milwaukee has been instrumental in certifying and expanding the program to support youth in mentorship, education, and career pathways, creating a community-centered approach to uplift Black and Brown young men.

Men of Color Initiative (Founded at MATC)
The Men of Color Initiative, which Walter founded at Milwaukee Area Technical College, is designed to support male students of color through mentorship, academic guidance, and leadership development. MIRACLE Mental Health Network
MIRACLE (Mental Illness—Raising Awareness with Church and Community Leaders Everywhere) is an initiative Walter founded to raise awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues within faith-based communities. By partnering with mental health professionals and advocates, MIRACLE provides education, support, and resources to empower church and community leaders to address mental health in a compassionate, informed way.
